Inhibition Studies
Optivia inhibition studies assess whether your compound inhibits the expressed transporter. Inhibitors can cause drug-drug interactions that make other substrate drugs unsafe.
The transport of a reference substrate is monitored in the presence and absence of your compound. A reduction in the transport of the marker substrate when your compound is present indicates that it inhibits the transporter. Inhibition can be caused by both substrates and non-substrates of the transporter.
Standard inhibition screening studies are performed at a single concentration of the test compound.
Full dose response curves are available to calculate the inhibition constant (IC50) of your compound.
OptiDDI-Essential&trade and OptiDDI-IC50&trade are recommended for development compounds since they were designed in accordance with the ITC Transporter White Paper and FDA Advisory Committee recommendations.
