Definitive Assessments
Substrate Transport Studies
Optivia substrate transport studies assess whether your compound is a substrate of the expressed transporter. Substrates can be vulnerable to becoming unsafe through a drug-drug interaction.
Functional transport of your compound is measured and compared to the control experiment. An increase over control indicates your compound is a transported substrate of the expressed transporter. Substrate activity can also be further confirmed by the addition of one or more inhibitors.
Standard substrate transport screening studies are performed at a single concentration of the test compound.
Full dose response curves are available to calculate the transport kinetics (Km and Vmax) of your compound.
OptiDDI-Substrate™ and OptiDDI-Km™ are recommended for development compounds since they were designed in accordance with the ITC Transporter White Paper and FDA Advisory Committee recommendations.
