Human Transporters
Human transporters are used in our assays for development compounds.
Polarized Mammalian Cells
All Optivia assays are performed in polarized mammalian cells to best match the human biology of transport. Other providers use frog based, insect based or non-polarized models.
Functional Transport Assays
Optivia performs only functional transport assays because indirect systems like ATP-ase and calcein reporters have been shown to have significantly higher rates of false positives and false negatives.
Matched Control Cells
Optivia uptake assays are performed in exactly matched control cells to directly account for any passive permeability and flux from interfering endogenous transporters.
