Comparisons between Optivia’s novel transporter assay approach
and the traditional stable cell line approach
Encompassing patented methods and proprietary know-hows, the Opti-Expression™ technology allows rapid, robust and consistent expression of various transporter proteins in polarized mammalian cell monolayers. Compared to the use of stably transfected cell lines, this novel transient expression approach confers significant cost and time saving, unprecedented scalability and matchless flexibility in transporter assay development and set up.
With Opti-Expression™, one or more exogenous transporters can be over-expressed, specific endogenous transporters can be knocked down, all in polarized cell monolayers, which represent more physiologically relevant models for transporter biology study compared to frog oocytes, insect vesicles and non-polarized cells.
